CIANJ President interviewed on MY9
August 16th, 2013
John Galandak, president of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, can be seen on My9/WWOR TV on Sunday at noontime in an interview being broadcast on New Jersey Now.
As the president of a statewide business advocacy organization, Galandak was asked to comment on a new bill (A4125/S2866) that would require companies employing 10 or more workers to provide up to 72 hours a year of paid sick leave. Firms that have less than 10 workers would be obliged to give up to 40 hours of paid sick leave. A worker would be eligible for the leave if he or she is sick, caring for an ill relative, or going to court to file a domestic violence complaint.
Galandak warned that mandating more requirements on employers would adversely impact the state’s business climate. He also noted New Jersey would be only the second state to impose such mandates on employers.
