CIANJ Meets with Sandy Rebuilding Director

On Thursday, a small group of CIANJ members met with Marc-Philip Ferzan, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Recovery and Rebuilding, to discuss how our businesses can assist New Jersey in the rebuilding efforts.  Mr. Ferzan has been tasked by the Governor to make sure the rebuilding efforts are done appropriately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.  With nine counties impacted by the Hurricane and with billions of dollars at stake and multiple agencies involved, this is a daunting task.  Mr. Ferzan talked about the challenges and progress made but also talked about the opportunities available to New Jersey businesses to help in the rebuilding efforts.  He mentioned that the Office of the Comptroller launched a new website where contracts and money can be tracked http://www.nj.gov/comptroller/sandytransparency/index.shtml.  This was done not just for transparency purposes but also to aide companies in navigating through the complexities of the regulatory and procurement processes.  For those companies impacted by the storm, you can apply for assistance by visiting the following website http://application.njeda.com/strongernjbusiness/default.aspx.  Mr Ferzan agreed to keep the lines of communication open with CIANJ as New Jersey rebuilds.
