Governor Signs Key Legislation

Earlier in the week, Governor Christie signed numerous bills into law while “pocket” vetoing many other bills.  Of note to CIANJ members is the signing of legislation which extends a mandatory deadline for the completion of remedial investigations, a bill which modifies the process for how cases are adjudicated within the Office of Administrative Law, legislation which creates a statewide trauma system, a bill which modifies tenure for faculty at state colleges and universities, to name a few.   Some of the bills the Governor let expire, by taking no action, were a bill which would have mandated sprinkler systems for new single family homes, a bill which would have created an Office of Clean Energy within BPU, etc.  For a complete listing of bills signed and bills vetoed see here.
